The Teachable + AWeber email stack
You sell more than one thing on Teachable. Course A buyers should get one email, Course B buyers a different one, and the people who downloaded a lead magnet and never bought should get neither. Teachable's own Emails tool can filter and send to any of those groups by hand; it cannot do it automatically. This is the index for making that automatic in AWeber, whose integration Teachable documents in its own help centre.
Every fact across these six pages was read off Teachable's or AWeber's own documentation, checked 9 September 2026, and carries its source. Nothing here has been clicked through in the live products; where that matters to a specific step, the page says so.
Why AWeber
4 of the 14 platforms we compare list a direct connection to Teachable: Kit, ActiveCampaign, GetResponse and AWeber. This stack is built on AWeber because Teachable's own App Hub lists an AWeber app, with named triggers (a new sign-up, a new sale, a new enrollment, a course completion, a subscription cancellation), a documented setup path, and workflows that can be scoped to a single course.Source
That is a documentation-depth reason, not a claim that AWeber is the best of the 4. If you want to make that judgement yourself, best email marketing for Teachable sets out the other direct connections, the ones that work only through Zapier, and the ones where we found no connection at all.
Every step on the six pages below has to be checkable against documentation, and Teachable's page for the AWeber app gives named triggers and a setup path to check against. Everything else we found about AWeber is in our full AWeber review, which course platforms each tool connects to is on the platforms page, and the honest comparison with Teachable's own email is on the built-in-email page.
Get started
Both accounts, Teachable to host and sell the course, AWeber to run the email, need to exist before any of the six pages below can be set up.
The six pages
- Teachable to AWeber: the migration guide
The end-to-end procedure: export per course, shape the CSV, import, verify, and connect the App Hub integration so new buyers keep getting tagged.
- Tag Teachable buyers by course in AWeber
The exact click path for the App Hub integration Teachable itself built, plus the Zapier and API routes, and which one to reach for.
- Recover abandoned Teachable checkouts in AWeber
Teachable has a real abandoned-cart event. The App Hub integration does not carry it. Here is the Zapier bridge and when to just use Teachable's own tool.
- Launch email cadence by price, built in AWeber
How many emails, over how many days, for a $97 course versus a $2,000 one, built as an AWeber workflow with real suppression and opt-out.
- Teachable's built-in email vs AWeber
The honest side-by-side, including who should not bother. Teachable can already filter and send by hand; AWeber is where that becomes automatic.
- What Teachable + AWeber costs over 24 months
The combined bill, not the sticker price. Teachable prices by product count; AWeber prices by list size, which is the number that actually moves.
Not on Teachable, or not sure yet
If you have not decided you need a separate email tool at all, read that first, three of the four main course platforms already run an automated welcome sequence on their own. If you use Kajabi, Podia or Thinkific instead, the platform picker at/find and the fullplatform list are not specific to Teachable.
