Split your list before you move it
Your export is one file. The fact that row 412 paid you and row 413 downloaded the free thing lives in one column of it, and most imports flatten that away. Split it here first, import the two halves separately, and the difference survives the move.
Nothing is uploaded. Your browser reads the file, does the work, and hands it back. There is no server, no account, and nothing is stored. Close the tab and it is gone.
1 Add your export
or drag it here. Nothing leaves your browser.
Or paste the file contents instead
2 Point at the column that marks a buyer
Which values in that column mean they bought?
3 Take your two files
Where are you importing it to?
If you have not picked yet, these 3 are the ones whose free plan can actually run a welcome sequence once your list arrives.
Questions about this tool
- Does my list get uploaded anywhere?
- No. The file is read by your own browser and never sent to us or anyone else. There is no server involved, no account, and nothing stored. Close the tab and it is gone. You can check by opening your browser network tools while you use it.
- Why split the file at all? Why not just import it?
- Because the knowledge of who paid you lives in one column of that export, and most imports flatten it. Once buyers and free subscribers are one undifferentiated list, your next campaign pitches the course to the people who already bought it. Splitting first means you import two groups and keep the difference.
- What if my export does not have a column marking buyers?
- Then the tool cannot invent one, and neither should you. Go back to the platform you are leaving and export the buyer list separately, or add a column before importing. It is worth the extra ten minutes.
- What do I do with the two files?
- Import them as two separate groups, lists or tags in the new platform, rather than one import. That rebuilds the segmentation on the other side. The switching guide covers the full order of operations.
