AWeber
Automation from day one of the trial, no free plan behind it
Their free plan is gone. What's left is a 14-day trial, then straight to a paid plan, with campaign automations included from the entry tier. Running since 1998.
Is AWeber right for you?
Where you sellConnects directly to all four of the course platforms our readers sell through: Teachable, Kajabi, Podia, Thinkific. Sell on Teachable? Read the full Teachable + AWeber guide. Weighing it against the others that connect? Best email marketing for Teachable sorts every platform here into direct, Zapier only, and no connection found.
Use AWeber if
- Your course already earns enough that a monthly bill from day one is not the problem.
- You want to take the payment for your course in the same place you email people, instead of wiring two tools together.
- You write to your people regularly, not just when you have something to sell.
Don't use AWeber if
- You want new subscribers to get a welcome email automatically, and you are not ready to pay. MailerLite does that for free.
- You have no budget yet. There is no free plan here at all, only a trial. MailerLite is free to 250.
- You want to be certain you can take your list and leave. Their terms cut off access to your contacts when you cancel.

The details that decide it
The things that bite six months in, read off AWeber's own pages. Where we could not read a page reliably, the row is left out rather than guessed at.
- Works with where you sellintegrations
- Lists direct integrations with Teachable, Kajabi, Podia and Thinkific, which is every course platform our readers commonly sell through. Source
- Getting your people inmigration
- Free and done for you, in five business days or less. Covers lists, tags, subscribers, sign up forms, campaigns, automations and up to three email templates. Their page states no plan requirement. Source
- What else it costs
- Selling through AWeber carries a transaction fee on top of what your payment processor takes: 1.0% on Lite and 0.6% on Plus. Source
- Getting your list back outHard to leave
- Read this before you sign up. Their service agreement says AWeber has "the right to delete all data, files or other information that is stored in the subscriber's account" if the account is terminated, for any reason, by either side. Export your list before you cancel, not after. Source
What other people scored AWeber
Not our scores. These are the public ratings on two review sites that have no connection to us, read on 6 September 2026. Each one links to the page it came from, so you can check it and read the reviews there.
- G24.2 out of 54.2
650 reviewsRead them on G2
- Trustpilot4.3 out of 54.3
176 reviewsRead them on Trustpilot
Both sites land within 0.1 of a point of each other, so the two sets of reviewers broadly agree.
We do not average these into one number. A blend would be our figure wearing someone else's authority, and it would hide it when two sets of customers disagree. Scores move, so treat the date above as the age of the reading, not a promise about today.
AWeber, answered
- Does AWeber have a free plan?
- Not one we could confirm. Their pricing page showed 14-day trial only when we checked on 9 September 2026. The cheapest paid plan is Lite at $12.49/mo.
- Can AWeber send an automated welcome sequence on the free plan?
- No. No free plan exists as of 2026-09-09; automations are included once you're on a paid plan. If an automated welcome sequence is the thing you need on day one, MailerLite allows it free.
- What does AWeber cost once the free plan runs out?
- The entry paid plan is Lite at $12.49/mo, billed yearly at 0 to 500 subscribers. Prices on every platform here move with list size, so treat that as the floor rather than the bill.
- What is the catch with AWeber?
- The paid Lite plan allows one email list and three automations, so the second funnel you build is what pushes you up to Plus, not the size of your list.
