Constant Contact
A well-known name in small-business marketing, built before online courses existed
A broad marketing suite: email, social posting, SMS and events, not a course-creator specialist. There is no permanent free plan, only a 30-day trial, and none of Teachable, Kajabi, Podia or Thinkific show up in their own integrations directory.
Is Constant Contact right for you?
Where you sellNone of the four course platforms appears in their integrations directory, so connecting one means routing it through Zapier, a separate subscription.
Use Constant Contact if
- Your course already earns enough that a monthly bill from day one is not the problem.
- You write to your people regularly, not just when you have something to sell.
Don't use Constant Contact if
- You want new subscribers to get a welcome email automatically, and you are not ready to pay. MailerLite does that for free.
- You have no budget yet. There is no free plan here at all, only a trial. MailerLite is free to 250.
- You want to be certain you can take your list and leave. Their terms cut off access to your contacts when you cancel.
- You sell through Teachable, Kajabi, Podia or Thinkific and want the two joined up without paying for Zapier as well. None of those four appear in their integrations directory. Kit lists all four directly.

The details that decide it
The things that bite six months in, read off Constant Contact's own pages. Where we could not read a page reliably, the row is left out rather than guessed at.
- Works with where you sellintegrations
- None of Teachable, Kajabi, Podia or Thinkific turned up in their own integrations directory search. Zapier is one of their 300+ listed native integrations, so a connection to any of the four would have to run through that, and their own FAQ says an extra charge applies to Zapier integrations. - Do the emails actually arrive?deliverability
- Their pricing page claims a 98% inbox rate, citing 2025 Validity Everest qualified inbox test results, an independent tester rather than a self-reported number. Source
- What else it costs
- Every plan carries a monthly send limit tied to your contact count: 10x contacts on Lite, 12x on Standard, 24x on Premium. Going over does not stop your emails; it bills $0.002 per extra send, or $2 per 1,000. SMS is a separate add-on, from $10/month for up to 500 messages on Lite and Standard (500 included free on Premium). Source
- Getting your list back outHard to leave
- There is no self-service cancel button. Their own help article says you have to call their Billing Support line, and once the account is cancelled you immediately lose access to your contacts, campaigns and reporting; images go offline and integrations disconnect. They only guarantee to store the account and its data for 30 days afterward, after which an inactive account's contacts and content may be permanently deleted. Source
What other people scored Constant Contact
Not our scores. These are the public ratings on two review sites that have no connection to us, read on 6 September 2026. Each one links to the page it came from, so you can check it and read the reviews there.
- G24.1 out of 54.1
7,450 reviewsRead them on G2
- Trustpilot4.0 out of 54.0
2,011 reviewsRead them on Trustpilot
Both sites land within 0.1 of a point of each other, so the two sets of reviewers broadly agree.
We do not average these into one number. A blend would be our figure wearing someone else's authority, and it would hide it when two sets of customers disagree. Scores move, so treat the date above as the age of the reading, not a promise about today.
Constant Contact, answered
- Does Constant Contact have a free plan?
- Not one we could confirm. Their pricing page showed 30-day trial only when we checked on 9 September 2026. The cheapest paid plan is Lite at A$12.75/mo.
- Can Constant Contact send an automated welcome sequence on the free plan?
- No. There is no free plan. The 30-day trial caps you at 100 total email sends and campaigns cannot be published to real contacts until you pay. If an automated welcome sequence is the thing you need on day one, MailerLite allows it free.
- What does Constant Contact cost once the free plan runs out?
- The entry paid plan is Lite at A$12.75/mo, billed annually for up to 500 contacts; priced to us in AUD. Their own FAQ separately states plans start at $12/month. Prices on every platform here move with list size, so treat that as the floor rather than the bill.
- What is the catch with Constant Contact?
- There is no self-service way to cancel. You have to call their Billing Support line, and the moment the account closes you lose access to your contacts, campaigns and reports immediately, with only a 30-day window before an inactive account's data can be deleted for good.
